                   	     ORDINANCE NO. 9469
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING HOOKER
                   AVENUE AND ALLEYS LOCATED NORTHWEST FROM
                   O'GRADY DRIVE, NORTHEAST OF ELDER MOUNTAIN
                   ROAD, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, UPON
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned Hooker Avenue and alleys located northwest from
         O'Grady Drive, northeast of Elder Mountain Road, more 
particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
               
                Hooker Avenue, a 50 foot wide unopened right-of-way
                beginning on the northwest line of O'Grady Drive
                300 feet northeast of the intersection of the
                northwest line of O'Grady Drive with the northeast
                line of Elder Mountain Road, and extending
                northwest 300 feet between parallel lines.  Said
                street separates lots 11-16, block 7, from lots
                5-10, block 8, West Chattanooga Land Company
                Subdivision No. 1, as shown by plat of record in
                plat book 6, page 34, R.O.H.C.
               
                A 20 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning on the
                northwest line of O'Grady Drive 140 feet northeast
                of the intersection of the northwest line of
                O'Grady Drive with the northeast line of Elder
                Mountain Road, and extending northwest 300 feet
                between parallel lines.  Said alleyway separates
                lots 5-10, block 7, from lots 11-16, block 7, West
                Chattanooga Land Company Subdivision No. 1, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 6, page 34,
                R.O.H.C.
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
         and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
                1. The parcels adjacent to said rights-of-way shall
                   be resubdivided to eliminate any land-locked
                   parcels.
               
              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law, provided that this Ordinance shall not be
         operative until completion of condition no. 1 in Section 2
         above.
